Qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist

Obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviours can be exhausting for children, teens, and their families. I offer safe, compassionate support to help young people manage OCD, reduce distress, and feel more in control of their lives.

Lasting Results

Supporting young minds to break free from OCD patterns and manage intrusive thoughts.

It's not uncommon for children and teenagers to find comfort in routines or to check things sometimes. But when these behaviours become constant, overwhelming, or distressing, and are accompanied by intrusive thoughts they may be signs of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

Some young people show OCD-type behaviours linked to anxiety — such as repeated reassurance-seeking, checking, or tidying when they feel stressed. These behaviours can often be eased once the underlying anxiety is addressed. Clinical OCD, however, is more persistent and involves intrusive thoughts alongside compulsions that feel impossible to resist, even when the child or teen knows they don’t make sense.

You might notice your child or teen:

  • Feels trapped by repetitive behaviours like checking, cleaning, or counting

  • Worries excessively if routines or rituals are not followed

  • Struggles to concentrate at school due to intrusive thoughts

  • Becomes anxious, upset, or irritable when unable to complete rituals

  • Feels embarrassed or distressed about their thoughts and actions

OCD can affect not only the young person but also the whole family, especially when rituals take up significant time or interfere with daily life.
