Work With Me

When a child or teenager is struggling, it’s not always clear what kind of support is needed — or where to begin.

Some families know they want direct support for their child. Others feel unsure whether support should start with their teen, or with themselves.

You don’t need to have the answers before reaching out.

My role is to help you gain clarity and decide on the most appropriate next step.

How Support Usually Begins

Most parents begin with a consultation. This is a private online session for parents to talk things through, explore what’s been happening, and understand what type of support may be most helpful.

Following the consultation, support typically takes one of two directions — depending on your child’s needs, readiness, and the wider family dynamic.

Ways I Offer Guided Support

Sometimes the most effective place to begin is with you.

Parent Insight Sessions are designed to support parents who feel worried, stuck, or caught in difficult patterns with their child or teen. These sessions focus on helping you gain clarity, regulate your own emotional load, and develop a calmer, more constructive way forward.

This pathway is often helpful when:

  • your teen is resistant to support

  • emotions are running high at home

  • communication feels strained

  • you feel unsure how to help without making things worse

Support for your child doesn’t always have to start with them. Sometimes meaningful change begins by supporting the parent first.

1.Parent Insight Sessions

For some young people, direct support feels appropriate and accessible.

I work gently and flexibly with children and teenagers, adapting my approach to suit their age, personality, and comfort level. Sessions are designed to feel engaging and supportive, not clinical or overwhelming.

Direct support may be recommended when:

  • your child is open to working with someone directly

  • they are experiencing anxiety, low confidence, or emotional overwhelm

  • they would benefit from structured tools to build resilience and regulation

For structured teen support programmes, you may also wish to explore Calmer Teens, a specialist programme designed specifically for teenage anxiety and school-related challenges.

2.Direct Support for Teens

I primarily support children, teenagers, and parents experiencing:

  • Anxiety and excessive worry

  • School-related stress or school avoidance

  • Low confidence and self-esteem

  • Emotional overwhelm

  • Exam stress

  • Specific fears and phobias

  • Parent–teen relationship strain

If your child is experiencing more complex clinical needs, I may recommend seeking specialist medical or multidisciplinary support alongside or instead of working with me.

If you’re unsure whether I’m the right person to help, the consultation allows us to discuss this openly.

Not Sure Which Path Is Right?

You don’t need to decide on your own. The consultation is designed to help us talk this through and determine what support, if any, feels most appropriate for your child and family.
